WHEREAS
the National Federation of the Blind of Florida holds its annual convention on Memorial Day weekend; and
WHEREAS
The Florida legislative session is in recess until the following year, making many resolutions passed in May either outdated or not applicable by the time of the next session; and
WHEREAS
Our state convention is only weeks away from our national convention, making it necessary for many members to choose between the state or national conventions, because of financial or work; related considerations; and
WHEREAS
The Memorial weekend date puts us in competition with other statewide events, causing difficulty in scheduling some speakers and other activities;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED IN CONVENTION ASSEMBLED IN JACKSONVILLE THIS 31st DAY OF MAY, 2004 THAT The NFBF hold its 2006 convention in the late Summer or Fall of the year, time and location to be determined by the board.
